Here to Help Walk Each Other Home
We really are only here to help walk each other home. Having a loved one by your side as you transition is a blessing. To be that loved one is an honor as well as a huge sacrifice. Not only are you putting all your energy into the best possible positive environment, but you are learning what the true meaning of living really is.
Help a Friend with Your Presence
As I held my friend’s hand from a distance, I learned the meaning of walking a loved one home. She had reached the phenomenal mark of turning 100 years old and survived many surgeries; however I didn’t understand the magnitude of being with a loved one as they transitioned.
Only Taking Your Love
It truly is a spectacular sight especially when it is witnessed with nothing but love and positive energy surrounding them. As we prepare ourselves as the one to help in the transition, there is no one there announcing all the beautiful cars, clothes or hand bags we ever possessed. There’s no bank letting all know the balance of our accounts or how we paid everything on time or late. What happens is love begins to embody the room and everyone there.
As their love streams around and through your own heart, you become part of the shift about to happen. In this shift, from soul to soul, all that’s felt is pure love. It’s the same love that exists as we enter this earth no matter the circumstances. When born to rich or poor, the love we bring with us as we enter is the same we take with us.
Restore Your Energy
When someone is giving all their time and sacrifices of their own days, it takes a toll on them. Even when we know the outcome, the feeling of sadness does not escape without being felt. It’s the same exhaustion that is felt as we birth one into this world. After the last breath, it’s important to remember to go back to taking our own breaths. Not only that, but it’s time to remember to administer our own self-love.
It takes much energy giving birth, and it embodies a lot of strength to release our loved ones back home. As we help them free their spirit to fly away, it takes a toll on our own vigor. The key is knowing how to replace it in a way to honor what just happened. Some missing power may come back to help one get back to their own life, however it’s so important to realize that it won’t be at a full charge for awhile.
Release the Sadness
Letting memories come along with tears is so necessary. As we release our pain slowly but surely, our heart has a chance to align back with the soul. Feeling every pain and memory helps make the transition successful. If we realize that our loved one is close to us even when gone, we can learn to get back to our lives knowing that’s what they want.
Grieving Takes Time
Giving your heart time to grieve is key as well. This isn’t a process that has a known timeline. It’s different for everyone. Speaking to them as we get back into our routines is a helpful practice. Reminding our heart that they are truly in a more peaceful place helps the transition for all involved. As a friend being there for that special relationship, be sure to give yourself time to adjust. The energy given to a loved one going through such a tough event must be restored.
One important part of helping one transition is speaking to them. My friend said that the hospice people and their literature say the last sense that goes is hearing. So people should speak positively in front of their loved one. That was something she was grateful to learn. As you are present with one who helps transition a loved one, think of the lessons learned. This will help prepare you for an upcoming departure of your own. Every moment we’re here is to share our love.
It’s All About Purpose
Although we may enjoy collecting objects, we need to remember our main purpose here. Did we put a smile on someone’s face? Were we able to help someone out of a bind? Was our kindness felt by others? Hopefully we can say yes to those questions. That’s really what life’s about. Namaste, peace, and love to all.

Mom would have loved this. Thank you for walking me through one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I really felt her deep sense of peace and it helped ease some of the pain of letting her go. Her spirit now soars through the heavens and she is one special angel 😇
Michele, I’m so glad you loved it. She certainly was a wonderful soul here on earth & now a wonderful angel!
