Don’t Get Stuck in Self Care
When your sign to do something literally turns into the fact that your angels wanted you to see a sign, that’s when you know you’re on the right track.
Get Out of the Hermit Hut
Sometimes we have to work very hard at getting out of the emotions or physical feelings that are weighing us down. After a medical procedure, I took the time to get back on my feet, yet I could feel myself wanting to go back into the hermit style of living again. We all know that feeling but how wonderful when your mind and thoughts push you back onto your path?
Of course, we’re to pamper and give our body, mind, and heart self-care, however sometimes we can get stuck in that process. Self-care is a wonderful place to lavish love and care onto your soul, but we have to notice when we’re hanging out in that space in order to avoid life and do the things we should.
Self Care the Right Way
As I was making sure not to over-do my need to get back to my regular schedule of walking, writing, and working as a tutor & sub, I made sure I took things one step at a time. I know myself, and in the past I have pushed myself too hard to get back on track. With age comes wisdom, although I found myself slipping back into not doing what is right. I was listening to the side of my brain that was handing out all the excuses. (I thought I got rid of him?!)
Thank goodness that one of my angels stepped in and started really pushing me to do my walk. Thoughts appeared in my head once again to get back to walking even if it isn’t as far. Wouldn’t you know, my feet took me all the way and I enjoyed every part of the path? I’m grateful that I listened because I received another sign.
Watch for Your Signs
When I pushed myself to go the distance I was previously walking, I saw a motivational quote on a sign that made me smirk with a smile toward the angel who has been working so hard to get me to move again. The sign’s quote stated, “Live life as if someone left the gate open.” BEAUTIFUL! Definitely a sign I needed to see after being pushed back onto my path.
Who wouldn’t want to remain in self-care? It’s a wonderful place: face masks, feet soaking, polishing nails, and yummy healthy smoothies. After all, it is full of healthy ways to live our life. Maybe instead, we learn to put these important moments into our schedule.
Self-Care = Happy and Healthy
If you’re thinking you may be hiding from the world by using a recent medical procedure or illness or emotional problem, be sure to tell yourself how wonderful you really are and how important it is to stay healthy. Get back in the game, walk back on your path, and start including some of the self-care moments into your daily schedule in order to keep yourself happy and healthy.
