I Thought I Already Let This Go?
Here they come again, those thoughts that you already let go. You thought that you meditated and prayed enough to show them how to leave your head. You might be asking yourself why they are back. Think about the exact time when they snuck in, what were you seeing or talking about that made them come back into mind? What triggered those old feelings to arise?
The Triggered Feelings
Sometimes something as simple as a photo will trigger our thoughts. The photo has us thinking about a person or thought that we already worked on. When this happens, don’t fret. Think of it as an opportunity to see just how far it’s traveled from you and just how much power it still contains.
Let the feelings and thoughts come in, but don’t let them attach to your heart. Simply view the thought and feel whatever feelings come with it. Ask yourself what level the strong triggered feeling is inside with the levels between 1-10 with ten the strongest. You may realize that the feeling is there, yet not as strong as it was previously.
The Process to Let Go
This is showing you what you need to work on. First, be happy and thankful of your achievement. You have let most of it go. Your heart has diminished most of the negativity. There is only a small amount of work left to accomplish. Secondly, listen to your heart. Maybe your heart is telling you to make the call, write another letter, or simply pray and meditate on it once more. Lastly, it is simply your heart checking in to congratulate you on your success of releasing your negative thoughts and reminding you of what is left to finally let float away for good.
Many of us immediately beat ourselves up because we feel we didn’t do something correct. Be reminded that every time you work on releasing any negativity in a positive way, it’s for your heart’s sake and it’s a time to feel proud. Use gratitude to replace your feeling of wrong doing. Celebrate the fact that you are on your way of releasing those sad memories or thoughts.
The Peaceful Heart
You will soon be relieved of the pain, just remember to keep listening with your heart and loving in faith. You are doing it correctly. Give yourself that well deserved pat on the back and take a big breath. Exhale while putting a smile on your face. You are on your way!
