Moving Forward in the New Year
As I look back to what I went through and accomplished, I truly see what a wonderful year I had. Of course there were the life lessons and things that didn’t actually go as planned, but when I really take time to sit in all the things I learned and tried, I feel pretty good.
Learning the Lesson
I’m learning that having a good year is not just having one great thing happen after another with no negative moments or happenings. Yet, it is sitting while taking deep breaths and taking the time to see every individual aspect that I tried and notice that it helped move me forward.
At the end of 2021, I self published my parenting book, Parenting Scholar Athletes. Because of the holidays right there, I didn’t really start to dig in and learn how to market it until last year, 2022. Since a lot of my time at the beginning of 2022 was spent on getting things ready for my daughter’s white dress wedding in June, I had to learn to take small steps in my new publishing world. From social media to monitoring sales to attending selling events can be hectic, I had to learn what I could. By telling myself to learn what I could while enjoying every minute of our preparations for the wedding, it helped me get both important things done.
How the Flow Really Works
Because I let things flow and not stop them, it led my husband and me to a counselor. It was perfect timing because it gave us tools to deal with our feelings as well as life altering moments that were occurring. Since weddings can bring out the worst in some people, I had an opportunity to stick to my boundaries. By allowing myself to live in my boundaries, I realized that others can put blame on me, but that’s just their stuff. I learned to speak out and to let my feelings heard. On the other side, I experienced sitting in the moment with wonderful friends and family. Considering the significance of the moment, I enjoyed true adulation.
My Journey is not Yours
In addition, I learned that my spiritual journey is at a different pace than others around me. I know now that I don’t need to teach someone else how to maneuver through their journey and guide them. All I need to do is be their light. As I shine my light, it may or may not attract others. With that being said, I only need to deal with my feelings and path. But if any questions from others while noticing me on my route, I can help. It can be a struggle to watch someone else’s suffering as they try to fight against their journey. However, it is my job to be the brightest light to help shine guidance for them to receive.
Learn to Shine Your Light
All things considered, everything that was placed on my trail to learn helped me shine my light even brighter. When going through the hardest feelings shared by others, it can bring out the work that is left to overcome. However, once we recognize that our path is different from anyone else, we can concentrate on the lessons we’re to learn while letting others concentrate on theirs.
When you come across a lesson on your path that comes with pain and hurt, remember it’s for your growth. No one is trying to get you nor is anything against us. Quite frankly it’s the opposite. It should be an exciting time because we’re about to move up a level. I know no one who celebrates while in pain, but tuck this back in your mind in order to help you move forward.
