The Storm is the Way Out

We can all hear what our next steps are if we slow down, breathe, connect to our Source or God, and wait and listen. My experience on my beach walk demonstrated its truth.

As I awoke up early, something was pushing me to go for my walk on the beach right away. I was thinking to myself that if I wait, I can go with my husband. However, God had other plans for me.

In the past few weeks, I’ve been praying and asking for help on my writing. I’ve asked for ideas on what moms need help on right now. A few days ago I heard the message to write and do a video on parent-teacher conferences. Even though I noticed other video posts on the same subject after I made mine, I realized that there needs to be others getting the word out to help everyone. That was my lesson today; although I write on a subject that others are covering at the same time, it is important that I listen to my calling. There has to be messages on the same topic made by different people in order to reach people through those that inspire them.

While I ventured off to the beach, I felt I was taking this beach walk in order to receive my next message. Sure enough, God connected with me and downloaded more information to help us all. The subject today- our storms are our way out. Coincidence is God’s funny way of making His point. As I scrolled through other messages for today, fighting through our own storms was the topic.

The skies looked stormy on my walk, yet no rain. The waves were small, but great shapes of strength. As the waves rushed in and out climbing and bringing its used seaweed to settle on the shore, it made me realize that when we are in our storm, in reality, it is the perfect place to be. The storm is the way out.

Seaweed is only one item in the ocean that is used for the survival of creatures. When it is finished being used, the ocean discards it on the shores for others to use. By bringing it to the surface, this is the chance for other living creatures to benefit from it.

If you try to go around, the storm will come back until you face your dilemma. We must face the storm head on and do exactly what the ocean does. It begins to dig up all the things that no longer serve us. Just as the ocean digs up and places the used seaweed and shells on its shores, we also have to dig up those irritations in our lives and put them out on the street to be taken away.

We all have our own storms going on in our lives. Our storms can be anything from an addiction, child’s behavior, family unforgiveness, and obstacles that threaten our way of living. When these storms begin to erupt, we believe this is the bad part of the obstacle. In fact, being in the storm is the place we need to be to overcome the issue.

Even in the cloudy skies, the pelicans remain in their rows. They remain in their place doing their job. It’s a great reminder showing us that as we move through the complication, conditions begin to align. We need to follow the ways of the pelicans. They stay in alignment no matter what. Our own families and lives will do the same. As long as we remember our goals and not get sidetracked, we will see the bright glimpses appear as if to tell us to remain on course. Only by this do we succeed.

Feeling the distress, learning our lessons, and keeping a positive mind set will we find ourselves coming out of the storm and into complete light. Staying in the darkness only keeps the negativity in our presence.

Surfers always remind me on a cloudy day of small and limited waves to sit where you are, breathe in & out, connect back to your own soul and Source, and practice patience. As they float awaiting the next set of waves, they actually have the right idea. They get to enjoy their surroundings; nature in all its glory.

Despite all the dark clouds and unsettling feelings during the storm, we will come out on the other end as stronger and more secure. Finding our balance and moving through the circumstance are the answer to overcoming our storm.
